
Oman to Organize Sustainability Week, Petroleum
Exhibition, Conference on 11 May 2025
Muscat, 14 Apr (ONA) — Oman Sustainability Week and Oman
Petroleum and Energy Exhibition and Conference 2025 will kick off on 11 May at Oman
Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This was unveiled during a press conference held in Muscat today.
The two events will bring together global experts, policymakers and industry
leaders. The participants will exchange
experiences and discuss energy transition, sustainability and economic
diversification measures.
More than 350 exhibiting companies from over 30 countries will
take part in the two events during which they will showcase their latest
products and services. The conference will also see the participation of more than 2,400
attendees from more than 30 countries and 500 specialized speakers from various world countries.
The two events include platforms for dialogue and innovation
and elaborate on innovative solutions that support global transition towards a
low-carbon economy, with emphasis on energy transition, circular economy and
industry best practices.
Oman Sustainability Week will be held under the theme of “Sustainable Development: Balancing Progress and Environment Conservation”,
while Oman Petroleum and Energy Exhibition 2025 will feature the theme of “Driving Energy Transition Through Innovation in the Oil and Gas
Sector.”
The two events will attract a host of local and
international exhibitors and provide an exceptional opportunity to showcase
pioneering technologies and solutions and contribute to the exchange of
expertise and the consolidation of strategic partnerships between stakeholders
in the sector.
Oman Sustainability Week and Oman Petroleum and Energy
Exhibition and Conference 2025 will include workshops to discuss the latest
trends, challenges and opportunities in the fields of energy and
sustainability. The activities will include a specialized conference due to be organized
by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. The conference will focus on the essential role
of innovation and advanced technologies in accelerating the transformation of
the global energy sector.
Meanwhile, a sustainability, resources and technology
conference will be held to exchange updates on policies and plans towards achieving carbon neutrality.
During the events, emphasis will also be laid on empowering young talent in the
energy and sustainability fields. In this context, the National Committee for
Young Professionals will hold an interactive platform to explore opportunities
of professional growth and future trends.
As part of Oman Petroleum and Energy Exhibition and
Conference, a model of “Future Mobility” will be showcased in cooperation with the
Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The participants
will also have the opportunity to conduct field visits to view outstanding
sustainability projects across the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Anbouri, Director General of Oil and
Gas Exploration at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, said that that the
conference will provide solutions to some of the challenges facing the sector. The
solutions, he added, include the reduction of carbon emissions and the
acceleration of development of low-carbon technologies.
Al Anbouri pointed out that the exhibition constitutes a
prominent milestone in the energy sector and benefits from the significant
growth that the sector witnessed over the past few years.
For his part, Dr. Ali Salim Al Rajhi, Director General of
Planning at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (Chairman of the Oman
Sustainability Week Steering Committee), said that the week focuses on four
main themes: the future of energy, water management, environmental resilience
and climate action.
Echoing a similar view, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Ghareebi,
Director of External Affairs, Government Relations and Communications at
Petroleum Development Oman, said that Oman Petroleum and Energy Exhibition, Oman
Sustainability Week and the conference of the Society of Petroleum Engineers will
provide a platform for cooperation and innovation and contribute to the
transition towards a sustainable and advanced future for the Sultanate of Oman.
It is worth noting that Oman Sustainability Week and Oman
Petroleum and Energy Exhibition and Conference 2025 will be supervised by the
Ministry of Energy and Minerals and organized by Oman Exhibitions Organizing
Company (CONNECT).
