Business Forum Emphasizes Enhancing Economic Cooperation

6 Nov (ONA) — The Oman-Ukraine Business Forum, organized today by Oman
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in cooperation with the Embassy of
Ukraine in the Sultanate of Oman, affirmed the importance of opening new
horizons for joint cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, and trade
exchange.

The
Forum was attended by a number of businessmen from both the Omani and Ukrainian
sides, aiming to discuss opportunities for commercial and investment
cooperation and strengthen economic partnerships between the two countries,
especially in the sectors of food security, logistics, construction and
building, manufacturing, and financial consulting.

Saud
Ahmed Al Nahari, Member of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, explained that the Chamber is keen to build direct communication
bridges between Omani and Ukrainian business owners and explore available
opportunities in various economic sectors, which contributes to diversifying
commercial partnerships and enhancing mutual investments.

For
her part, Olha Selykh, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman, praised
the economic development and the supportive investment environment witnessed in
the Sultanate of Oman. She affirmed her country’s desire to expand areas of
economic cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman, particularly in sectors of
shared priority, and to work on facilitating the exchange of information and
expertise between the private sector institutions in both countries.

The
Forum witnessed extensive discussions on a number of vital sectors, including food
security, information technology and artificial intelligence, logistics
services, freight forwarding, manufacturing automation, investment, accounting
and tax consulting, architectural engineering and interior design, in addition
to legal and administrative consulting, and advertising agencies. Discussions
also addressed mechanisms for activating commercial cooperation and exchanging
information about the economic and investment systems in both countries,
contributing to the development of practical partnerships and joint projects
that serve the interests of both sides.

The
Forum included a presentation on the services of the Oman Chamber of Commerce
and Industry and its role in empowering the private sector, supporting the
business environment, and enabling the private sector in the economic
development process, in addition to its programs in training and capacity
building, and its efforts to support investors through organizing economic
forums and international exhibitions.

meetings between business owners from both sides were held on the sidelines of
the Forum, where ways to strengthen partnerships between the private sector in
the two countries were discussed.
