Explores Economic Partnerships

Muscat, 22 Apr (ONA) — Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI)
today organized an Omani-Libyan business forum on the sidelines of a visit
being made to the Sultanate of Oman by a Libyan trade delegation.

The forum was held at the headquarters of the OCCI in Muscat under the
auspices of Eng. Hamoud Salim Al Saadi, Second Deputy Chairman of the OCCI Board
of Directors (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI branch in South Al
Batinah Governorate).

The forum explored means of consolidating economic partnerships and opportunities of commercial
exchange in both countries. It targeted investors, producers,
exporters, importers and wholesale companies across vital sectors, including
food security, construction, medical equipment supplies, energy generation,
information technology, electrical equipment, oil services, training and the media.

“The forum embodies the depth of relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the state of Libya and reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to economic and commercial cooperation through their respective public and private sectors,” said Al Saadi. He pointed out that the forum formed a strategic platform
for expanding the scopes of joint investment in vital economic sectors that constitute
key drivers of economic growth.

For his part, Al Arif Al Qajiji, head of the Lybian delegation said, “This forum flags off a phase of deeper
cooperation between the business communities in both countries and embodies the
two sides’ ambition to establish sustainable economic relations.”

Al Qajiji affirmed the Libyan Businessmen Council’s commitment to
facilitate cooperation, exchange expertise and promote opportunities for the establishment of joint
investment projects that serve the economies of both countries.
