Omani School Sports Federation Launches Student Athlete Development CentersMuscat, 20 Oct (ONA) — The Omani School Sports Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, today launched the “Student Athlete Development Centers” in schools across the Sultanate of Oman. The centers will focus on basketball, handball, athletics and hockey.The ceremony was held under the patronage of Basil Ahmed Al Rowas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth.The centers are geographically distributed across educational governorates as follows:· Al Dakhiliyah Governorate (3 centers): Athletics, Handball, and Basketball.· Muscat Governorate (2 centers): Hockey and Athletics.· South Al Batinah Governorate (2 centers): Handball and Basketball.· Dhofar Governorate (2 centers): Athletics.· North Al Batinah Governorate (1 center): Athletics.· A’Dhahirah Governorate (1 center): Handball.— Ends/AH
