Development Plan Committee Advances Key Strategic Initiatives

(ONA) — The supervisory committee for Oman’s 11th Five-Year Development Plan
(2026-2030) convened its fourth meeting this year at the Ministry of Economy
headquarters under the leadership of Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister
of Economy. The session brought together committee members to review progress
on the second executive plan implementing Oman Vision 2040.
Committee members
examined implementation progress and completed work phases, with particular
focus on the development status of the Plan’s main framework document. The
meeting featured a comprehensive presentation by Dr. Nasser bin Rashid Al
Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Deputy Head of the
committee, outlining the forthcoming Five-Year Plan’s strategic programs and
overarching structure aligned with Oman Vision 2040’s core pillars and
priorities.
He emphasized the
critical need to establish clear connections between the Plan’s strategic
programs and the annual projects and initiatives developed by relevant
institutions. He stressed that well-defined performance indicators coupled with
robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are essential for ensuring
effective implementation and achieving targeted outcomes.
In his address, the
Minister of Economy highlighted the importance of finalizing the review process
for proposed strategic programs. He urged continued dedication to strengthening
coordination mechanisms and expanding participation across government entities,
private sector representatives, and civil society organizations. This
collaborative approach aims to develop a comprehensive development framework
that supports Oman’s ongoing development journey while addressing the evolving
requirements of the next implementation phase of Oman Vision 2040.
