Oman’s
Production of Gasoline Rises by 15.1% in March 2025

Muscat,
19 May (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman’s production of gasoline recorded a rise
of 15.1% in March 2025 compared to March 2024, according to preliminary
statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information
(NCSI).

Meanwhile,
the total production of refineries and petroleum decreased by 1.8% until the
end of March 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The production of
regular gasoline (M-91) rose by 13% until the end of March 2025, and its
domestics sales also rose by 1.2%.

The
statistics indicate that the production of regular gasoline (M-91) reached
4,432.0 million barrels by the end of March 2025, with sales amounting to 3,383.4
thousand barrels.

The
production of premium gasoline (M-95) fell by 6.7% by the end of March 2025,
reaching 2,896.5 thousand barrels, compared to 3,106.0 thousand barrels during
the same period in 2024, and its sales increased by 1.4% to 3,148.0 thousand
barrels, up from 3,106.0 thousand barrels at the end of March last year.

The
production of diesel fuel (gas oil) fell by 0.3%, reaching 7,350.8 thousand
barrels by the end of March 2025, compared to 7,372.0 thousand barrels during
the same period in 2024.

Furthermore,
the production of aviation fuel oil also fell by 15.2% by the end of March
2025, totaling 2,547,000 barrels compared to 3,003,000 barrels in the same
period of 2024, with Sales drops by 13.5%, totaling 941.4 thousand barrels by
the end of March 2025, compared to 1,088.000 thousand barrels in the same
period last year.

The
production of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) also fell by 9.1%, reaching
1,696,100 barrels by the end of March 2025 comprising a decrease from the same
period in 2024, when production stood at 1,865,000 barrels. However, its sales
rose to 981.1 thousand barrels, up from 819.0 thousand barrels, marking a 19.8%
increase.

Regarding
petrochemicals, the production of benzene increased by 4.1%, reaching 44.7
thousand metric tons by the end of March 2025 compared to 43.0 thousand metric
tons in the same period of 2024, while the production of paraxylene reached 140.4
thousand metric tons, compared to 140.0 thousand metric tons at the end of
March last year representing a rise of 0.3%. The production of polypropylene
rose by 28.6%, amounting to 78.5 thousand metric tons from 61.0 thousand metric tons during the same period in 2024.

Despite
the decrease in production, polypropylene sales recorded a significant decrease
of 15.4%, reaching 7.6 thousand metric tons, compared to 9.0 thousand metric
tons by the end of March last year. The Sultanate of Oman’s exports of gasoline
(M-91) rose by 7.6% to reach 764.8 thousand barrels compared to 711.0 thousand
barrels in the same period of 2024.

In contrast, premium motor fuel
(M-95) exports rose significantly by 35%, reaching 560.4 thousand barrels.
Diesel exports declined by 26.7%, recording 2,914.2 thousand barrels compared
to 3,978.0 thousand barrels in the same period last year. Jet fuel exports also
dropped by 10.4%, from 1,725.0 million barrels at the end of March 2024 to 1,546.0
thousand barrels at the end of March 2025.

Additionally,
the exports of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) reached 36.6 thousand barrels compared
to 148.0 thousand barrels in the same period last year.

The
exports of paraxylene amounted to 172.6 thousand metric tons, and the exports
of benzene and polypropylene reached 43.3 thousand metric tons and 61.2 thousand
metric tons, respectively, until the end of March 2025.
