Salalah, 22 Oct (ONA) — The OQBi Hackathon 2025 concluded
today with the recognition of four winning teams celebrated for their technical
innovations and practical solutions across safety, energy, and creative
industries sectors.

In the OQBi Hackathon’s Challenges track, three
teams emerged victorious. Team “Safe Crew” secured first place for
their cloud-based real-time field crew tracking system designed to enhance
operational readiness and safety. Team “Vision AI” earned second
place for their artificial intelligence-powered solution that assesses
industrial risks and facilitates decision-making processes. Team ANTICOR
claimed third place for developing an advanced remote monitoring system for
industrial corrosion.

Within the Dhofar Governorate Office Challenges
track, Team Juthoor 4.0 achieved victory for their digital platform project
focused on empowering local artisans and marketing their products through
modern digital technologies.

The three-day hackathon engaged 110 participants
comprising students, jobseekers, employees, and entrepreneurs who competed
through 26 teams, presenting groundbreaking solutions and concepts across
multiple industrial domains.

This initiative reflects OQ’s comprehensive efforts
to foster an innovation and entrepreneurship culture within the industrial
sector while supporting Oman’s transition toward a sustainable knowledge-based
economy, fully aligned with Oman Vision 2040. The hackathon forms an integral
component of the company’s strategic commitment to advancing innovation and
digital transformation, enabling young talents to develop solutions for
industrial and energy challenges, facilitating the shift toward a
knowledge-driven sustainable economy, and reinforcing Oman’s position as a
regional hub for innovation and future industries.

The program further aims to accelerate
technological transformation while cultivating a culture of creativity and
design thinking, establishing a competitive environment for developing
innovative solutions that address industrial challenges while capitalizing on
strategic opportunities identified by the company within Dhofar Governorate.

The initiative emphasizes youth skills development
through platforms for idea exchange, knowledge sharing, and collaborative
teamwork, while simultaneously enhancing sustainability practices through
technical innovation indicators and the National Charter framework.
Additionally, it builds professional networks that connect industry
professionals and innovators throughout the Sultanate of Oman.
