Amman, Feb 18 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Wednesday urged stricter government control over the market to stabilize prices, particularly for needy groups, during the holy month of Ramadan.
“As we welcome the blessed month, let us recall the values ??of tolerance and solidarity, for Ramadan is a month of forgiveness, goodness, blessings, and benevolence,” he told lawmakers in a session attended by members of the government team.
He congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Jordanians and the Arab and Islamic nations on the holy month, and prayed for the Kingdom’s stability and security.
Jordan has announced that Thursday will be the first day of Ramadan, setting the public sector working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the month of fasting.
