NNA – nbsp;President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, during todayrsquo;s Cabinet session held at Baabda palace under his chairmanship, congratulated the Lebanese on the occasion of the glorious Easter.

President Aoun also offered his condolences to the Ministry of Defense and the Army Command for the martyrdom of the nbsp;Adjutant who fell while dismantling mines and explosives in a tunnel in the Tyre area. Aoun also thanked the Intelligence Directorate and the General Security for arresting some members of the cell that launched rockets from southern Lebanon.

During the Cabinet session, President Aoun also referred to his field visits to the Traffic Management Authority and the Port of Beirut, stating that quot;corruption and administrative red tape can be addressed through e-government,quot; calling for quot;cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and relevant ministries to implement it.quot;

Additionally, the President of the Republic presented the outcomes of his visit to Qatar, describing his meeting with Qatari Emir Tamim as quot;fruitful and excellent,quot; and indicated quot;Qatar#39;s readiness to support the military institution.quot;

nbsp;Aoun also announced that he had asked Qatar to quot;increase its investments in Lebanonquot; and revealed that a Qatari delegation will visit Lebanon next week to discuss the electricity dossier.

He also called on Qatar, as a member of the consortium, to quot;accelerate gas exploration operations,quot; and hailed quot;its experience in e-government as well as the success of the Lebanese expatriates.quot;

President Aoun also stressed that quot;the countries supporting Lebanon insist on the need for reform,quot; commending the government#39;s completion of the banking sector#39;s reform draft law, which he signed and referred to Parliament.

While thanking the government for quot;the adoption of two reform draft lawsquot;, he wished quot;the Minister of Finance success in his visit to the United States and his meetings with the International Monetary Fund.quot;

Aoun also stressed the quot;need to complete the draft law on the financial gap in a timely manner.quot;

Touching on the appointmentsrsquo; dossier, the President of the Republic hoped that quot;they will be completed within the Council for Development and Reconstruction soon, and that the judicial and diplomatic formations will be completed without delay.quot; nbsp;nbsp;
