Khartoum, January 18, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris emphasized the pivotal role of the Ministry of Finance, describing it as the backbone of the country’s financial and economic system. He commended the ministry for its remarkable efforts during the war, highlighting its efficiency in maintaining the functioning of the executive machinery while providing sustained support to the war effort in the “Battle of Dignity.”The remarks came during the Prime Minister’s visit on Sunday afternoon to the Ministry of Finance, part of his inspection tours of government ministries to evaluate the resumption of work at their headquarters in the national capital, Khartoum. He was accompanied by Prime Ministerial Adviser Nizar Abdullah Mohamed and Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Ali Mohammed Ali.During the visit, the Prime Minister renewed his call for all diplomatic and consular missions, as well as international and United Nations organizations, to return and resume their operations from Khartoum, affirming that the capital is now secure and victorious.BH/BH
