Khartoum, Feb. 9, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris met on Monday with Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) Governor Amina Mirghani to review the outcomes of her recent visit to the Sultanate of Oman.In a press statement, CBOS Governor briefed the Prime Minister on the results of her visit, highlighting the signing of a memorandum of understanding between CBOS and the Central Bank of Oman to enhance cooperation, particularly in technical areas and anti-money laundering efforts. She noted that correspondent banking relationships were established between the Central Bank of Oman and several Sudanese banks.Governor Amina Mirghani also reported that agreements were reached with a number of Omani institutions to invest in Sudan across sectors including energy, mining, transport, ports, healthcare, and other productive and service projects.During her visit, she met with central bank governors from several neighbouring and regional countries to explore ways to strengthen cooperation with Sudan’s banking sector, aiming to develop its capacities and accelerate the country’s economic development.CBOS Governor expressed her gratitude to the government and people of Oman for their support of Sudan, for hosting Sudanese citizens, and for granting them various privileges in the Sultanate.BH/BH
