Amman, Nov. 16 (Petra) — Her Royal Highness Princess Zeina Rashid has been elected to the Executive Council of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) for the 2025–2029 term, marking a new appointment for Jordan in the global sports arena.
Princess Zeina has a long history in table tennis, having represented Jordan in the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She also carried the Jordanian flag at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
Following her athletic career, she moved into governance roles, including serving as a member of the ITTF Foundation Board, where she is involved in initiatives that use sports for community and youth development.
In Jordan, Princess Zeina serves as Vice President of the Jordan Taekwondo Federation and has been involved in the development of national sports programs, including the Olympic preparation system and the Jordan Olympic Committee’s Olympic Preparation Center.
Her work also extends to community-focused initiatives, including participation in sports programs for children in refugee camps and founding “Art for Good,” an initiative that uses art to support charitable and developmental projects.
Princess Zeina’s election to the ITTF Executive Council adds to Jordan’s representation in international sports bodies for the coming four-year period.
