Amman, Oct. 27 (Petra) — Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has earned a place in the international finals of the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC), one of the world’s leading cybersecurity contests, scheduled to take place at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York in January 2026.
The PSUT team qualified after winning first place in the regional round covering the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, hosted jointly by RIT Dubai and the University of Jordan last Saturday.
The CPTC competition simulates real-world cybersecurity penetration testing exercises, organized by U.S. professionals and specialists. Ten university teams from across the region competed, with only the top-ranked team earning a spot in the global finals.
The winning PSUT team consists of students Jana Jamal, Ahmad Obeidat, Ziad Al-Sharif, Ayham Al-Sarkhi, Lynn Abdullah, Saleh Al-Sahib, Abdullah Dahouk, and Mustafa Al-Kilani, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Ababneh.
PSUT President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija praised the team’s exceptional performance and commitment, highlighting that their success strengthens the university’s distinguished regional and international standing. She reaffirmed PSUT’s dedication to nurturing student talent through academic excellence, innovation, and competitive participation.
Prof. Abu Elhaija also noted that the achievement reflects the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, for the university to serve as a regional leader in science, technology, and innovation.
