Amman, Jan. 7 (Petra) – Chair of the Lower House Palestine Committee, MP Suleiman Al-Saud, said that the maps recently shared by the official accounts of the Israeli occupation on social media, claiming to represent “historical” boundaries that include parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, expose the sinister ambitions and schemes being promoted by the occupation. He emphasized that these aspirations will be thwarted by Jordan’s steadfast resilience and the awareness of its people.

In a statement issued by the Palestine Committee on Tuesday, Al-Saud highlighted that these publications coincide with remarks by the extremist Israeli Finance Minister advocating for the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

He asserted that such declarations are part of ongoing violations of Palestinian rights, which will not be forgotten over time but will remain etched in the collective memory of generations until the Palestinian people achieve their rightful freedom and independence.

Al-Saud commended the statement issued by Jordan’s Foreign Ministry, which denounced these provocative claims and posts. He affirmed that such attempts will not deter Jordan from continuing its pivotal role in defending the just Palestinian cause.

He concluded by calling on the Jordanian government to take further measures in coordination with the international community to ensure serious stances against the occupation. Al-Saud also reiterated the Jordanian people’s unwavering support for His Majesty King Abdullah II, the custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and their unity behind the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies.
