Doha, July 30 (QNA) – The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of two liquefied natural gas vessels at the port of Damietta in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, considering it a direct threat to global energy supplies, a clear and explicit violation of the rules of international law, and an irresponsible approach that undermines the security of the region and tampers with the destinies of the peoples.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s complete rejection of targeting vital facilities, stressed the need to spare the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, and to reduce escalation to restore security and stability regionally and internationally.
The Ministry also affirmed the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and its support for all measures by Egypt to preserve its sovereignty and security. (QNA)
