Doha, Jan. 2 (Petra) – Exports from Qatar’s private sector to Jordan totaled $48 million in the third quarter of 2024, marking a 6.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023, when exports amounted to $45 million.
Qatari exports to Jordan primarily consisted of organic fertilizers, steel bars, medical solutions, food products, and a wide range of consumer goods. Additionally, significant shipments included various chemicals such as motor oils, sulfonic acid, aluminum molds, polyethene, paraffin, chemical fertilizers, and plastic bags.
According to a recent quarterly report by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, the total value of private sector exports from Qatar during the third quarter of 2024 reached approximately 2.56 billion Qatari riyals, based on certificates of origin issued by the Chamber.
In terms of export destinations, countries in Asia, excluding GCC states and Arab nations, remained the largest recipients, accounting for 40% of total exports, with shipments valued at 1 billion riyals.
The GCC countries followed, receiving 25.7% of total exports, amounting to 657.5 million riyals, while the European Union ranked third with exports worth around 631.6 million riyals, or 24.7%.
The report further highlighted that Qatari exports reached 101 countries in total. India emerged as the leading trade partner, receiving goods worth 442.1 million riyals, or 17.3% of total exports. The Netherlands followed with 375.3 million riyals (14.7%), while the UAE ranked third with exports valued at 280.3 million riyals (11%). China ranked fourth with 189.6 million riyals, representing 7.4% of total exports.
