Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) – The annual report on the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision’s executive program (2023-2025) in the mining sector has revealed significant developments, including the commencement of negotiations with various companies on projects related to copper, gold, phosphate, rare earth elements, and associated minerals.
The report, published on the Prime Ministry’s website, highlights the completion of the Silica/1 sand upgrading project, aimed at enhancing the export value of silica ore. Additionally, it notes the issuance of the amended system for the Petroleum, Oil Shale, Coal, and Strategic Minerals Exploitation Projects System, No. 76 of 2020.
The report also mentions the initiation of a study and classification of basalt rocks in Harrat al-Sham for industrial applications. Moreover, the execution of work plans stipulated in memoranda of understanding with companies involved in exploration and prospecting projects for minerals across various regions of the Kingdom has been monitored closely. One notable development is the approval of the memorandum of understanding for copper exploration in the Ghor Fifa area with the National Mining Company.
