
Royal
Army of Oman Band Achieves Advanced Rankings in Scotland
Edinburgh,
27 Jul (ONA) — The Royal Army of Oman Music band has achieved advanced
rankings in the initial stages of its participation in the (3B) category of the
Scottish musical competitions, in preparation for the World Championship in
Glasgow.
The
band secured fifth place in its classification. Additionally, Warrant Officer
Mohammed Khamis Al Amri earned fourth place, and Sergeant Tariq Nassib Al Amri
achieved sixth place in the Mace Bearer competition, among dozens of
participants from various countries.
The
band’s performances are distributed across several Scottish cities, including
Renfrew, Dumbarton, Dundonald, Bridge of Allan, and Perth, culminating in
Glasgow. This participation comes at the invitation of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band
Association, with over 200 bands represented by more than 7,000 musicians from
around the world.
Colonel
Ahmed bin Salim Al Shukairy, Director of Royal Army of Oman Band, stated that
this participation is an opportunity to highlight Oman’s cultural diversity and
civilized image in a global forum that includes thousands of musicians from 200
bands worldwide.
Lorraine
Cameron, Provost of Renfrewshire, expressed her delight at the band’s presence,
commending their performance and the audience’s interaction with them.
