Moscow, April 08 (QNA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry has stressed the need to guarantee long-term peace and security in the Middle East.
Maria Zakharova, the ministry’s official spokesperson, welcomed the agreement reached between Iran and the US for a temporary ceasefire in a press statement Wednesday, emphasizing that Moscow had called from the outset for a diplomatic settlement to the conflict.
She noted that serious negotiations are needed to reach a final settlement in the Middle East based on respect for the rights of all countries in the region.
It is worth noting that late last night, US President Donald Trump announced his agreement to a two-week ceasefire with Iran. (QNA)
