Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) – Khawla Armouti, head of the Senate Women’s Committee and representative of Senate Speaker Faisal Fayez, participated in the 28th Investment Conference in Cairo from October 19-22.
In her address, Armouti underscored the need for Arab countries to unite in addressing political, economic, and security challenges, stressing that enhanced cooperation and joint investments are essential for sustainable development, poverty reduction, and job creation. She called for the establishment of an Arab economic and customs union as a first step toward regional economic integration.
Armouti highlighted the potential of tourism as a key driver of economic growth, urging Arab countries to unify efforts to develop sustainable tourism and promote regional and international competitiveness. She emphasized Jordan’s rich tourism assets, including Petra, the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, and Madaba, which contribute significantly to employment and national growth.
She also addressed the role of women in regional development, noting that political and economic participation remains limited. Armouti stressed the importance of technology access, digital training, continuous skills development, and supportive policies to expand leadership opportunities for women. She praised Jordanian women for achieving significant leadership milestones and advancing in public life.
