Amman, Nov. 30 (Petra) – Chair of the Senate’s Youth National Dialogue Committee, Mahasen Al-Jaghoub, participated in the first Arab Women Researchers Forum hosted by Oman’s University of Buraimi., attended by Arab academic and research leaders.
According to a Senate statement issued Sunday, Al-Jaghoub presented a research paper titled “Future Challenges Facing Higher Education in Arab Countries: What Should We Do?”, focusing on the ability of Arab universities which vary from one country to another to keep pace with technological and digital development, meet requirements for improving academic program quality, and strengthen the role of scientific research in supporting education policies and decision-making.
She outlined practical proposals to develop the higher education ecosystem by enhancing university governance, supporting research and innovation, promoting a skills-based economy, and expanding Arab regional integration in areas of quality assurance, accreditation and joint research projects.
Al-Jaghoub chaired the forum’s first scientific session, titled “Arab Scientific Research and Researchers’ Visions: Reality and Foresight,” and presented her paper again in another session.
The forum, organized by Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in cooperation with University of Buraimi., the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), serves as a regional platform for exchanging expertise, building academic cooperation networks, enhancing women researchers’ presence in the Arab scientific landscape, and reviewing mechanisms to develop higher education and scientific research in the region.
