Amman, Oct. 24 (Petra)– Seven people were killed on Friday in an initial death toll after a boat carrying irregular migrants sank off the coast of Bodrum district in Türkiye’s southwestern Mu?la province.
According to information obtained by Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency, coast guard boats, helicopters, and diving teams were dispatched to the area following reports that a migrant boat had capsized near Bodrum’s shores.
Coast guard teams managed to rescue two people who were on the verge of drowning and recovered the bodies of seven others from the water.
Search and rescue operations are continuing in the area to locate any remaining missing passengers.
