
Amman, Sept 3 (Petra) – The Ministry of Social Development released its August achievements report on Wednesday, outlining key services provided during the month.
The ministry said it processed 15,622 applications for health insurance cards, 135 cases for medical cost exemptions, 130 transactions for inheritance settlements, and 1,902 applications for work permit exemptions.
According to the report, 46 children were placed in residential childcare centers, while 30 children were discharged and reunited with their biological or foster families. Three children were placed with foster families, and six nurseries were licensed.
The report said 352 women and children benefited from social service offices under the Family Protection and Juvenile Department. A total of 289 juveniles were referred under probation supervision, while 241 benefited from rehabilitation and education centers, including 95 who joined vocational training programs. Meanwhile, 148 child laborers received psychological and social interventions under a case management approach.
On civil society activities, the cumulative number of registered associations under the current law reached 6,005. During August, 22 new associations were registered, 114 submitted bylaw amendments, 35 were dissolved, 10 temporary committees completed their work, 11 remain active, 13 dissolution committees completed their mandates, and 82 associations received warnings.
For the National Aid Fund, 48,452 families benefited from monthly financial assistance, and 110 families joined the training program. The fund achieved a 100 percent response rate to incoming calls.
The report also said the ministry’s anti-begging directorate carried out 558 campaigns in August, resulting in the detention of 847 beggars.
