AMMAN, August 1 (Petra) — The Southern Military Zone thwarted an
operation to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics across its sector
early Saturday morning, intercepting an unmanned aerial vehicle
carrying the illicit cargo.
Border Guard units detected the incoming drone and downed it within
Jordanian territory. The operation was executed in close coordination
with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the
seized materials have been referred to the competent authorities for
legal processing.
The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army reaffirmed that national border
security is a red line, emphasizing the constant readiness of its
personnel to decisively counter any hostile or suspicious movements
aimed at undermining the Kingdom’s stability.
