Amman, Feb 22 (Petra) – Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin discussed, during his visit to the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents, the regulation of the tourism market and the continued imposition of effective oversight on pages and platforms that have not obtained the necessary approvals, in coordination with all relevant entities, to preserve the reputation of Jordanian tourism.
During the meeting, participants reviewed files related to religious tourism and Umrah trips and the procedural challenges facing companies and workers in this field, in addition to stressing the importance of opening new tourism markets and enhancing and diversifying the Jordanian tourism product, particularly religious tourism and medical tourism, given their pivotal role in increasing visitor numbers and sustaining tourism growth.
Both parties agreed that the upcoming phase requires greater collaboration to develop clear executive decisions that translate national visions and strategies into practical results, benefiting both the tourism sector and the national economy as a whole.
