Ministry Survey Measures Digital Economy’s Contribution to GDPMuscat, 2
Mar (ONA) — The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information
Technology is conducting a fieldwork survey to measure the contribution of the
digital economy to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023.The survey
stems from efforts to meet the objectives of the National Digital Economy
Programme.The project
seeks to provide accurate data to enable decision makers and policy makers to
draw out a future roadmap for digital economy in the Sultanate of Oman.The survey
monitors the progress made in achieving the goals of the National Digital
Economy Programme aimed at realizing a 10-percent rise in the digital economy’s
contribution to the GDP by 2040.The survey
would also help provide a reliable database for conducting economic studies and
research, make regional and international comparisons of the contribution of
the digital economy to the national economy and provide researchers with a
broad range of statistics to enhance their studies in this field.
