TSC Member Dr. Nuwara Chairs Al-Gadarif State Cabinet Meeting, Reviews 2026 Plan

Al-Gadarif, February 3, 2026 (SUNA) — Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Al-Gadarif State Cabinet at the Government Secretariat, attended by Acting Wali Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan.During the meeting, the TSC Member reviewed the state’s 2026 action plan, in addition to development projects implemented in 2025, with a total cost of SDG 162 billion.Dr. Nuwara praised the strong performance of Al-Gadarif State Government in the recent period, citing the settlement of all outstanding arrears and the implementation of a range of development projects across the state aimed at achieving sustainable development, protecting the environment, and advancing the development of border belt villages.She also underscored the major role played by the state in ensuring food security, supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces, and hosting displaced persons (IDPs) due to the war. She called for capitalizing on Al-Gadarif’s significant comparative advantages across sectors—particularly agriculture in both its crop and livestock components—and for promoting agro-processing industries to harness value addition.For his part, Acting Wali Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan affirmed the state government’s commitment to sustainable development and the delivery of services throughout the state.
