Al-Gadarif, 3-2-2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir, on Tuesday inaugurated the transmission station of Al-Gadarif Radio Corporation following its full rehabilitation, as part of celebrations marking the radio station’s 31st anniversary.Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Nuwara pledged to address all challenges hindering the provision of services to citizens, assuring residents that their needs would be met. “Consider all your needs fulfilled, and we will complete all outstanding components of projects—large and small—in the fields of education, health and agriculture”, she said.Acting Wali of Al-Gadarif State, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, described the rehabilitation of the radio transmission station as a major boost to broadcasting capacity, enabling coverage of all parts of the state and beyond. He said the upgraded service would benefit citizens through purposeful programming and announced that the state television channel is scheduled to begin broadcasting in 2026.Director General of the Al-Gadarif State Radio and Television Corporation, Abdel-Bari Kafi Kowa, commended the continued support provided by the state government in recent years, noting the pivotal role played by the state radio in public mobilization, general preparedness, and support for the Battle of Dignity.He further pledged to advance radio and television operations and implement all plans set for 2026, during which Al-Gadarif Satellite Channel project and the expansion of radio and television broadcasting via FM frequencies will be launched in full.BH/BH
