Port Sudan, April 2, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir, met on Thursday in Port Sudan with a delegation of leaders from the High Council of Beja Nazirs (Chieftains) and Independent Omodiyat (Mayordom) Leaders in Sawakin locality.According to Abdel-Gadir Tahir Al-Tayib, head of the council in Sawakin locality, the meeting addressed overall developments in the locality and the challenges facing citizens, particularly in basic services. Discussions focused on improving education and healthcare sectors, ensuring the provision of drinking water, upgrading the electricity network, removing invasive mesquite trees, and maintaining local dams.He added that the meeting also highlighted the importance of supporting khalwa (Quranic schools), as well as promoting youth projects and creating employment opportunities within the locality.Abdel-Gadir Tahir Al-Tayib further noted that TSC Member Dr. Nuwara reaffirmed her full commitment to supporting development initiatives in Sawakin locality, with a view to stabilizing services and advancing sustainable development. In a related context, Abdel-Gadir Tahir Al-Tayib commended the role of the Sudanese Armed Forces, praising their sacrifices and national stance in safeguarding the country’s security and stability.BH/BH
