
Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) – Director General of the Jordan-Hejaz Railway Corporation, Zahi Khalil, said the corporation is working to develop its operations in line with modern technologies while preserving its historical heritage.
This came during a visit by Turkish Ambassador to Jordan, Yakup Caymazo?lu, on Sunday, where he was briefed on the progress of the Hejaz Railway Museum project, funded by a Turkish grant.
The envoy was also briefed on efforts to preserve the historic site, which reflects the deep cultural ties between Jordan and Turkey.
Caymazo?lu toured Amman Railway Station, inspecting the historic train carriages and recently restored facilities, and commended the ongoing efforts to protect this heritage landmark.
The visit aimed to enhance cultural and historical cooperation between the two countries and to preserve the shared heritage represented by the Hejaz Railway, one of the key Ottoman projects that remains a witness to an important era in the region’s history.
