New York, Oct. 23 (Petra) — The UN Security Council is scheduled to hold its regular open debate today, Thursday, on “The Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question.”
At the outset of the meeting, Council members are expected to hear a briefing from the Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Ramiz Alakbarov.
It is noteworthy that today’s meeting was designated as a signature event on the Council’s agenda at the request of the Russian Federation, which holds the presidency of the Council for this month.
