Amman, Oct. 31 (Petra)– The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has affirmed that it continues to carry out its vital humanitarian role in the Gaza Strip despite the severe challenges and difficult conditions faced by the population.
In a statement posted Friday on its official account on X, the UN agency said that its schools in Gaza remain a safe haven for displaced families, with classrooms transformed into temporary shelters.
UNRWA noted that its teams of social workers continue to provide protection, psychosocial support, and assistance to those affected, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity.
The agency added that more than 12,000 of its staff members in Gaza are working daily in education, healthcare, and the provision of essential aid to displaced people.
It stressed that behind every lesson taught, every medical consultation, and every water distribution or waste collection effort, there is a dedicated UNRWA worker demonstrating each day that the agency remains steadfast in fulfilling its mission despite all challenges.
