VTC Launches Professional Entrepreneurship Program to Boost Youth Employment

Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) – The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) has introduced a specialized professional entrepreneurship program to empower Jordanian youth in launching their own businesses, contributing to economic growth, and addressing unemployment and poverty.

The program was officially launched on Monday during a visit to Maryam Awdat’s home nursery project in Irbid, a success story that has created three job opportunities following her completion of a child incubator training program, which was developed in collaboration with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and the National Council for Family Affairs.

VTC Director General Ahmad Gharaibeh stated that the initiative aligns with the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, who emphasized the importance of innovative job opportunities during his visit to the Madaba Center for Culinary Arts.
Gharaibeh explained that this is the first time VTC is offering a structured program focused on entrepreneurship and freelancing, aimed at fostering success stories in local and global labor markets. The program aligns with the second phase of the Economic Modernization Vision (2025-2028), particularly in developing future skills.

The program has two tracks: a long-term initiative targeting VTC graduates, university alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs to help them establish sustainable projects, and a track integrated into VTC’s training institutes, equipping trainees with entrepreneurial skills through a life skills course.

Participants will gain expertise in market analysis, business management, technology integration, and marketing strategies, ensuring their projects are competitive and sustainable. Gharaibeh highlighted that the program was developed in partnership with the Jordan Entrepreneurship and Innovation Association and private sector entities.

Nancy Momani, Director of WUSC’s Jordan Office, emphasized that the initiative is particularly significant for women in early childhood care, fostering sustainable businesses and economic growth. She credited the Canadian government’s support as crucial to the program’s long-term impact.

Momani added that WUSC’s collaboration with VTC and the National Council for Family Affairs underscores its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship as a solution to unemployment and a driver of sustainable development.
