Workshop
Held on Prospects of Tourism Sector in Oman
Muscat, 16
Nov 2025 (ONA) — The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism held a workshop today
in Muscat titled “Prospects of the Tourism Sector in the Sultanate of
Oman”, as part of the “Marhaba Oman” event dedicated to European
tourism markets.
The targeted
markets include Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia, and Belarus, within
the framework of the Ministry’s tourism promotion plans for 2025.
The workshop
addressed the targeted tourism markets and future opportunities for the tourism
sector, with the goal of hosting approximately 70 tourism companies from these
markets. This aims to strengthen communication and relations between local
tourism sector partners and their international counterparts, and to promote
Omani tourism products, experiences, and hotels, thereby contributing to increasing
the flow of tourist traffic to Oman.
The program
includes touristic excursions to key sites across various governorates of the
Sultanate of Oman, along with a training program on Omani tourism products, and
business meetings with local tourism sector partners.
The program
begins with introductory visits to a number of tourist sites in the
Governorates of Musandam, A’Dakhiliyah, South and North A’Sharqiyah, Muscat,
and Dhofar. This allows participants to learn about the cultural and heritage
components and the authentic experiences that the Sultanate of Oman abounds in.
It also offers the chance to experience handicraft products and local heritage
that reflect the richness and diversity of the Omani identity, in addition to
holding joint workshops and sessions that contribute to exchanging expertise
and enhancing cooperation among peers.
