Zarqa, Jan. 22 (Petra) – The Faculty of Engineering Technology (FET) at Zarqa University participated in the 9th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Research 2025, held in Barcelona, Spain.
Osama Ghazal, a faculty member, presented a research paper titled “CFD Study of Dual-Fuel Methanol-Diesel Combustion for Eco-Friendly Engines.” It addressed an advanced study that aims to enhance combustion standards to improve engine efficiency and reduce harmful emissions.
The research focused on the effects of diesel injection timing and engine speed on overall performance and emissions using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology. It also included developing a diesel engine model equipped with a variable injection system, allowing the determination of the optimal fuel injection angle for cleaner and more efficient combustion using a methanol-diesel blend.
In a statement, Ghazal emphasized that such research significantly advances eco-friendly engine technologies, supporting the global trend toward reducing environmental impacts and improving the economic performance of internal combustion engines.
