ZINC launches 1st cybersecurity skills development program for university students in Aqaba

Aqaba, Jan. 29 (Petra) – Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), in collaboration with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), has launched the first cybersecurity skills development program at its branch located in the National Employment and Training Company’s headquarters within the Aqaba National Vocational Training Complex. The program is dedicated to university students in Aqaba.

The month-long program includes 120 hours of intensive theoretical and practical training for 23 students from various universities in Aqaba. It covers key areas such as network security, the Linux operating system, foundational and advanced cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and digital forensics investigations. These topics are designed to enhance participants’ technical and professional skills in cybersecurity. The training is delivered by experts from the Cyber Shield Academy, a subsidiary of JODDB.

Upon completion, participants will receive an accredited certificate from the academy, helping them build their expertise and expand career opportunities in cybersecurity. The program is specifically tailored for students majoring in cybersecurity, information technology, and related fields.

The initiative is part of ZINC’s strategic partnership with the National Employment and Training Company, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and innovators in southern Jordan, particularly in Aqaba. It also seeks to equip students with advanced skills that enhance their employability in the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity, both locally and globally.
