Goods exported from Jordan-Syria FZ to Syria, Lebanon in 2024 total 214,000 tons

Mafraq, Jan. 7 (Petra) – The total volume of goods entering the Jordanian-Syrian Free Zone through the Jordanian gateway and exported to Syria, its ports, and Lebanon reached 214,000 tons in 2024, compared to 150,000 tons in 2023, according to the zone’s director, Irfan Khasawneh.

Khasawneh told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the goods were stored in the free zone after entering through the Jordanian gateway and then transported via the Syrian gateway to their final destinations in Syria and Lebanon.

He highlighted the 40% growth in trade activity within the free zone, noting that this increase reflects a significant upturn in the region’s commercial movement.

Khasawneh added that the zone currently has over 150 investment contracts, with heightened demand in the automobile sector observed last month. There are currently 90 car showrooms in the zone, most of which have been handed over to their owners following the settlement of financial obligations and legal and technical adjustments.
