NNA – President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and First Lady Nehmat Aoun, visited this morning the Monastery of Saint Marounnbsp;Annaya and the shrine of Saint Charbel, where they were received by the head of the monastery, Abbot Tannous Nehme, and several monks.
President Aoun lit a candle before the shrine of Saint Charbel and prayed for Lebanon and the Lebanese with the startnbsp;of his presidential term.
Believers at the monastery were surprised by the arrival of President Aoun and his wife, so they congratulated him, wished him success in his presidential responsibilities, and took souvenir photos with him.
At the end of the visit, President Aoun and the First Lady had breakfast with Abbot Nehme and the clerics, followingnbsp;which they left the monastery and returned to Baabda Palace.
