Amman, January 19 (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday received European Commissioner for Preparedness, Crisis Management and Equality Hadja Lahbib.
According to a royal court statement, the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace covered the strong partnership between Jordan and the European Union and keenness to enhance it across various fields.
Turning to regional developments, His Majesty underscored the importance of stepping up the international humanitarian response in the Gaza, following the ceasefire agreement, and ensuring sufficient aid delivery to all parts of the Strip.
The King also stressed the need to safeguard the security of Syria and its citizens, and to actively work toward restoring stability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas attended the meeting.
