Irbid, Jan. 21 (Petra) – The Mayor of Bani Obaid Municipality, Jamal Abu Obaid, met on Tuesday with the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan, Eldar Salimov, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Bani Ubaid Municipality and one of Azerbaijan’s municipalities through establishing a twinning agreement. The agreement aims to enhance cultural and tourism relations and exchange expertise across various fields.
Abu Ubaid said that Bani Obaid Municipality seeks to embrace global experiences to benefit from international expertise. He noted that areas of collaboration include climate change issues, renewable energy, and cultural and tourism projects, which would positively impact both sides.
Ambassador Salimov expressed pride in the strong Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations and affirmed his country’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Jordanian municipalities.
Bani Obaid district is one of the districts of Irbid governorate (northern Jordan).
