Ramallah, Feb 16 (Petra) — Israel’s Damon prison authority has ordered new punitive actions against 13 female Palestinians, including repeated transfers and tough conditions, in a systematic violation of human rights, according to the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority.
The women are held in three rooms and suddenly redistributed every week to constantly keep them annoyed and create a state of instability inside the prison, it said.
The female prisoners are exposed to severe winter cold with windows open, light clothing and not enough blankets, making life inside the prison unbearable under such conditions, it said.
Prison guards deliberately abuse female prisoners, especially when they go out to see their lawyer or visit the clinic shackled and blindfolded, and pushed or dragged in painful positions, said the authority.
Scanty meals are put aside for two hours before being handed out to the women, becoming cold and inedible, in addition to being tasteless, said the monitor.
