
Ajloun, Feb 19 (Petra) – Forestry teams from the Ajloun Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with security forces, seized 1.5 tons of illegally cut oak trees in the Arjan area of Ajloun Governorate (northwest Jordan) on Wednesday.
Ajloun Governor Nayef Hedayat said that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to protect the region’s vegetation cover. He stressed that security forces and relevant authorities will continue to work together to combat violations against forest resources and preserve the environment.
For his part, Ajloun Agriculture Director Rami Adwan said that field patrols have been intensified to monitor and safeguard forested areas. He noted that the confiscated wood was seized during these patrols and that a forestry violation report was issued against the individual involved. Legal proceedings will be initiated accordingly.
