Urban Air Mobility Forum Kicks Off
Muscat, 28 Apr (ONA) — The activities of the Urban Air
Mobility Forum, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and
Information Technology, commenced today with broad participation from government
and private entities, academic institutions, and international organizations
specializing in aviation, aerospace, and advanced technologies.
The event was inaugurated by Hamoud Musabah Al Alawi, Acting CEO
of Oman Airports.
The two-day forum aims to launch a strategic and professional
dialogue on developing urban air mobility systems in Oman—a key component of
the integrated transportation framework—to enhance innovation, employment, and
quality of life in Omani cities.
Additionally, the forum seeks to establish the foundation for a
national urban air mobility ecosystem by engaging stakeholders, aligning
visions on investment priorities, infrastructure, regulations, and drafting a
live-testing program.
It will explore investment opportunities in this emerging
sector, develop advanced mobility products and services, and outline key
directions for the national urban air mobility strategy, covering regulatory,
technical, and economic frameworks.
