Discussion Held on Cultural, Intellectual Role of National Library of OmanMuscat,
1 May (ONA) – As part of the programmes of 29th edition of Muscat International
Book Fair, the National Library of Oman today organized a panel discussion on
its intellectual and cultural role.The
dialogue session highlighted the role of Omanis and their intellectual and
scholarly contributions to civilization, since the dawn of Islam. It also
elaborated on the national bibliography and its significance in preserving
Omani intellectual outcomes, manuscripts and their role in safeguarding the
national intellectual heritage.The
discussion also covered various aspects of Children’s Library and its role in
fostering “conscious readers” and establishing awareness about stages of human
growth since childhood.
