Amman, May 14 (Petra) — In implementation of royal directives, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) carried out a new medical evacuation of four children with cancer from Gaza and 12 accompanying family members on Wednesday.
The evacuation is part of the second batch of the Jordanian Medical Corridor Initiative, which was launched in early March to evacuate 2,000 sick children from Gaza for treatment in Jordan.
The children, who are part of the group, will receive specialised treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Centre, as part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support our brothers and sisters in Gaza.
The patients and their companions were received via the King Hussein Bridge, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO), and transported via Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft to Marka Airport. From there they will be transported to the King Hussein Cancer Centre.
The first group of children as part of the initiative included the evacuation of 29 children, accompanied by 44 of their family members, by land and air to Jordan, in cooperation with the WHO.
Seventeen of these children and their families returned to Gaza after completing their treatment in Jordanian public and private hospitals.
The initiative is part of a series of medical, humanitarian and relief initiatives implemented by the Jordanian Armed Forces to support the Palestinian people in Gaza amid the difficult humanitarian and health conditions.
The Jordanian Armed Forces affirms its continued fulfillment of its medical, humanitarian and relief duties in supporting our brothers and sisters and providing various forms of support, based on its firm belief in the values ??of duty, solidarity and mutual support.
The children’s families commended the tremendous efforts made by the Jordanian Armed Forces, expressing their deep thanks and gratitude to Jordan, its leadership and people for their supportive stances toward the Palestinian people.
