Parliament passes 14 legislations in 1st ordinary session

Amman, May 15 (Petra) – The 20th Parliament passed 14 draft laws during its first regular session and discussed the Audit Bureau’s 2023 report.

In a joint statement, Lower House of Representatives and the Senate approved draft laws that tackled financial, women-related, power, and cooperative sectors.

Additionally, the two chambers passed amendments for the construction industry, real estate, foreigner residency, customs, civil aviation, penalties, and restructuring of government institutions.

As per the Constitution, the Parliament holds one regular six-month session every calendar year.

His Majesty inaugurates the session by delivering the Speech from the Throne, while its term is prorogued in a Royal Decree.
