Amman, May 15 (Petra) – Minister of Culture, Mustafa Rawashdeh, and Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Yakup Caymazo?lu discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cultural relations.

In a ministry statement on Thursday, Rawashdeh noted the “deep-rooted” Jordanian-Turkish relations, valuing Türkiye’s “supportive” stance on Arab issues, its position on Jerusalem, and its support for the Hashemite Custodianship over the city’s Islamic and Christian sanctities.

Rawashdeh expressed his pride in the “longstanding and well-established” cultural ties between the two peoples and countries, voicing the ministry’s “readiness” to develop cultural relations in the creative and heritage-based cultural industries and the visual and audio arts.

The minister also called for Türkiye’s participation in the upcoming Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts and the next Amman International Book Fair.

Meanwhile, the envoy emphasized the “strong” bilateral relations, expressing pride in the two countries’ shared culture, mainly in its social and religious aspects.

The diplomat noted Jordan represents a “historical” museum that promotes cultural tourism and serves as an academic cultural and educational destination for Turkish students to learn the Arabic language, sciences, and literature.
