ASMED Organizes Dialogue Session on Opportunities for SMEs
in Financing
Muscat, 28 May (ONA) — The Authority for Small and Medium
Enterprises Development (ASMED) today organized a dialogue session on enhancing
opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the financial services
sector.
The dialogue session was part of efforts undertaken by ASMED
to improve the business environment for SMEs and enhance their role in
developing financial services by introducing innovative ideas and improving
operational efficiency.
The dialogue session also explored means of encouraging
government and private partnerships and cooperation with SMEs and raising public
awareness about the SME sector’s importance as a vital partner in supporting
the national economy.
The session elaborated on policies, legislation, licensing
and enablers that support SMEs in offering innovative solutions and generating partnerships
in the financial services sector.
The dialogue session was attended by Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, CEO of the Financial Services Authority, and Halima Rashid Al
Zar’ai, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises
Development (ASMED), officials from the authorities concerned
and owners of SMEs.
