Cybersecurity Forum Explores Strengthening Cooperation Between Public, Private
Sectors

Muscat,
10 Sep (ONA) — The Hadatha Cybersecurity Forum, held at the “COMEX
2025” exhibition, reviewed investment in building a national cybersecurity
industry, compliance with the highest international standards for providing
services and solutions, and enhancing cooperation between the public and
private sectors.

The
forum, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information
Technology, represented by the National Center for Information Safety, was
inaugurated under the auspices of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of
Economy.

Eng.
Badr Ali Al Salhi, Director General of the National Center for Information
Safety and Head of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center, stated in his
speech that the forum aims to bolster the digital economy and make it a key
contributor to the national economy. He explained that the Cybersecurity
Industry Executive Program is a fundamental pillar of the National Digital
Economy Program due to its pivotal role in strengthening the digital
infrastructure, enhancing customer trust, and enabling the national economy to
achieve secure and sustainable growth. He added that the program also boosts
local and global investment opportunities in Oman.

During
the forum, the preliminary version of the website for the Fourth Industrial
Revolution Center in Oman was launched.

Another
cooperation agreement was signed with the Middle East College to establish the Hadatha
Center. The “Hadatha” Cybersecurity Industry Centers are a national
initiative implemented by the National Center for Information Safety. They
target the industrial sector as well as innovators, investors, and academics to
create economic opportunities in the lucrative field of cybersecurity.

The
forum included several panel discussions that addressed investment
opportunities in the cybersecurity sector and the challenges faced by national
companies between expansion and innovation. A “roundtable” session
brought together investors and decision-makers to envision the future of
cybersecurity as a promising economic sector that strengthens Oman’s position
as a regional hub in this rapidly advancing industry.
