Grand Prix Athletics Competitions Begin
in Muscat
Muscat, 6 September 2026 (ONA) — The
first edition of Muscat Prix Athletics competitions, organized by the Oman
Athletics Association, kicked off at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in
Bausher, Muscat governorate, on 5 September 2026.
Male and female athletes
representing more than 50 countries are taking part in the competitions, which
include 31 sports events.
Muscat Grand Prix competitions form part
of events of the World Athletics Continental Tour (Bronze Level), alongside the
International Challenge Tour.
The awards offer athletes ranking
points and opportunities to qualify for major championships. Oman’s national
athletics team athletes made a remarkable showing, securing several top spots.
